July 13th--Getting Ready

We are preparing for Cherie's arrival next week!

July 12th--Clouds

I have been enjoying my new chairs on my balcony and watching the clouds.

I had an incredibly productive day today! I got my lamp and curtains hung, read a book, bought patio furniture, had my samovar assessed, visited Scott and Nicole, advised Linda on travel, and picked up Jody from her ceramics class. The picture was meant to be Scott and Nicole, but I forgot!

July 10th--Lunch at Hamburger Mary's

Our Study Group met on Tuesday morning and then we met up with Carol for lunch at Hamburger Mary's.

July 9th--My Latest Collection

I've decided to start a new collection--icons. Here is my first one from Crete.

July 8th--At the W

Venu and I went to see "Evening" and the we went for drinks at the

W. We met lots of interesting people including William Tell's son.

July 7th--The Chicago Flight

These were the craziest lines I've ever seen for checking in for a flight. I used to arrive four hours early for the Chicago flight and it would have served me well this time. I waited in line for 2 hours to check in! I was not happy by the time I got on the plane.

July 6th--Rainy Day in Warsaw

When I saw the rain I tried to hop the next flight to Chicago. No luck! Despite being drenched, I enjoyed seeing the Warsaw Uprising Museum, eating pierogi and nalesniki and practicing some Polish. I haven't forgotten all of it!

July 5th--Dunnotty Castle

This is where they filmed Mel Gibson's version of "Hamlet."

July 4th--Sam

Here is Alan with Sam. I loved Sam the dog! He almost made me want to get one!

July 3rd--Tea Time

Kerry's mum broke out the special china tea set because she knew I'd appreciate it. We stayed with Kerry's family in Aberdeen.

July 2nd--View of Edinburgh

We did a whirlwind tour of Edinburgh. We visited Mary King's Close (the real one), the Toy Museum, The Last Drop Pub and probably some other things I forgot! I also got to experience the authetic Scottish rain!

July 1st--Tiara Time

Kerry's friend Leslie let us stay at her house in Edinburgh, even though she was busy preparing for her wedding the following week. Here we are trying on the tiaras for the wedding.

June 30th--Ferry Back

We are getting ready to board the ferry back to Athens. I just missed my friend KP by a few hours. We arrived back in Athens at 6 pm while she set off to cruise the islands that same morning!

June 29th--Last Night on Crete

We went out for dinner and drinks in Heraklion on our last night in Crete.

June 28th--Knossos

A visit to the Palace at Knossos was one of the main attractions of out trip! This is a famous fresco of the bull leaping. I still don't know how they can manage to do that successfully.

June 27th--Lion Fountain

This is the lion fountain in the center of Rethymnon.

June 26th--Inspiration

Tiffany and I are enjoying a great meal in Rethymnon. Although Creativity School didn't make me feel very creativity, we had an inspirational chat at dinner about how we can be as smart as those creativity school people.

June 25th--Samaria Gorge

Renee and I went hiking in the Samaria Gorge. The bus dropped us off at the entrance

at 8 am and we hiked 14 kilometers downhill and over rocks to the Libyan Sea. It was incredibly hot and the water was just perfect at the end.

June 24th--Diving

I'm all set to head off for the second dive of the day. The highlight was getting to swim into a cave.

June 23rd--Dinner at Tamam

Tiffany is enjoying dinner at Tamam on one of the back streets of Chania.

June 22nd--Linear A

These are the Linear A tablets from the Archeological Museum in Chania. Linear A is one of the earliest writing systems. They still have not decoded it, although they know that it was probably just lists of possessions and stockpiles.

June 21st--Self-Portrait

This is the best I could manage during our snorkeling trip.

June 20th--Creativity Play

Caroline is performing "Lanyard Larry and the Road Map to Love." She used my 10 objects that I provided. Right now she is dipping the straws in the jelly to create flowers.

June 19th--The Painted Ladies

These three sisters were participating in the Creativity Workshops.

Jessica, Jacqueline and Twinkie wore matching outfits with a different hat for each day of the week.

June 18th--Rockin out with Raki

Mike, Tiffany, me and Renee went out to dinner where they gave us the complimentary raki shots. Then we headed off to the bar for more fun. This night was lots of fun, but the next day wasn't!
